食べ過ぎ・飲み過ぎ。東京オフィスの時の忘年会ほど回数もないし、食べる量が少ないので体にはいいんだろうけど、居酒屋ではなくバー・クラブでやるせいで翌日の筋肉痛割合は100%増。今日も首が・・・

LKFで遊ぶならこの人たちと！
左から順番にTom、Julian、ひとつ飛んで、Naomi、Anita。Norha Jonesのコンサート行ったり、LKFの小さなパブでだらだらと飲んだり、時々はいかにして自分のビジネスをテイクオフさせるかについて議論したり・・・バッファロー・クラブっていう飲み専門のクラブにも入れてもらいました。晴れて１年間生き抜いた！

今日はシンガポール人のJulianと上環で待ち合わせして、彼がお気に入りのシンガポール料理のお店に行った。シンガポール・マレーシア名物ヌードルのLkasaと、お米（かな、、麦？）が入ったジュースと、Rojakっていう野菜やフルーツを八丁味噌和え（極めて名古屋的な説明だな）したような料理を頼んだ。

Laksaはココナッツミルクも入っていて、一気に南国に飛べるような感じ。

今日Managerと次のプロジェクトについて話し合って、本格的には年明けから仕事が始まることになった。まあ今年は、後はクリスマス休日やら、僕はその後は日本のお正月休みなどを取るのでほとんど実質勤務日数がないので、そんなところかな。あと３日で今年は仕事納め！

香港朋友のJulianがついに、つーいに僕を飛行機に乗せてくれることになり土曜日挑戦してきました！
Julianには今年の１月に香港オフィスで知り会って、その後は僕は上海、彼はクアラ・ルンプールという遠距離朋友関係が続いたせいで、飛行機に乗せてくれるっていう約束ものびにのびて、ついに１年経っちゃった。
Julianと、その彼女Anita、僕とJaneの４人で香港を飛ぶっ！

飛行機登場！
飛行機をこんなに間近で観察するのは初めて・・・Julianが搭乗前のチェックをしている間に、僕も飛行機のあちらこちらをコツコツたたいたりしてみた。ジェット機とかのイメージだと飛行機って精密機械のかたまりなイメージがあったけど、うーん、おもったより作りが雑だぞ。どちらかというと『紅の豚』の工芸品的なイメージのが正しいかな。

今週はWTOの騒ぎで自宅勤務指令が出ているので、その指令をしめしめと思いながら「自宅勤務中」。バケーション後にこの待遇はありがたすぎる・・・これまで追ってなかった最近半年の提案資料や成果物をオフィスのWeb上のデータベースからいろいろとダウンロードしてちょっと観てみたりする。ただTVはナショナル・ジオグラフィックがつきっぱなしだし、自習を邪魔する誘惑は山ほど。SOHOは僕には無理だなー。

そんな自宅勤務を妨げる誘惑の一つがベトナムで買ってきたベトナムコーヒー。

やすこちゃんがくれた地図がすごく笑える。。
アメリカ人の世界観・・・アメリカ人ではないのでコメント不能だけれど、ぜひだれかアメリカ人から意見をききたいなー。この地図によると、僕は放射能だらけの国で生まれ、マイクロソフト工場のある国で生活・仕事をして、つい最近「ぜったい行っちゃ行けない国」から帰ってきたことになるのか。そして僕の仕事の成果は唯一国家アメリカに上納される、と。

Webで変わったサービスがあったので、試してみた。

As I had covered almost all Hoi An must-see points, I decided to rent a motor-bike (gentsuki) and tour around outside of Hoi An. I made a ride to the way to My Son, the place I went to yesterday by hired car. Almost no traffice rule here. However, thanks to less traffic (as little as Japan's inaka part), there's no hassle to manage a middle-distance ride.

The bike is 4USD for a day plus 7,500VND (0.5USD) for 1 litter gas. With this sum of money, I got a freedom to drive around!! (with much caution required on safety, of course)

Since I tried in the Vietnamese Restaurant in Roppongi, I have been a big fan of Vietnamese vodka.. Flavors are totally different the standard wodka you've ever tried. All of them have distinct flavor on top of the vodka's strong base, it can bring you to Vietnamese breeze.

I asked the owner of the restaurant if he can sell the bottle to me, but he advised me to buy it online as it's much cheaper :) One bottle still costs me around 1,200 yen, but here it costs only 150 yen!!!! I have tried Nep Moi and Lua Moi in Roppongi (Nep Moi is my favorite), I bought 6 different kinds of Vietnamese vodka here and the total is still around 2,500 yen... wow...

Since yesterday, I have enjoyed the slow life in Hoi An. Wake up 8am (coz Vietnamese morning is very early. Yes, very very much earlier than HK's), walk around the tiny city, and have lunch and vietnamese coffee in a small cafe.
Hoi An seems to have had a big population of Japanese traders. There are quite a few hints of Japanese architecture. I had been in the country, China, which has bitter feeling on Japan/Japanese in its history. On the other hand, Vietnam's proximity towards Japanese makes me feel easy when travelling alone. Centainly, this is a tough country for American, though.

Second day in Hanoi. I almost cover the most part of this town. I still can't get used to the bargaining over here: THEY DON'T OVERCHARGE ON TOURISTS. Compared to the hyper-charge in China (esp. in Shanghai), here the first quote from the shop staff is very very reasonable.

As I tell from the daily street vendor's snack, the living expense here is not much different from Shanghai suburban's. But I can get the reasonable price here which it can take me to exchange several counter-offers in China. I think... I'm not that bad bargainer, but I really can't get the discount moer than 20%. I always get 70% (!) or more for the goods in Shanghai.

I stay at fairly nice hotels in Vietnam. The room rate is also discounted before I ask for it... Even I ask around local agents and internet sources, the quoted price is good enough. um...Do Vietnamese people do good business with tourist???

Tomorrow, I am leaving for Hoi An and My Son which locate in Central Vietnam by flight. They will be full of historical heritage. They can be very exciting :)

After speding 2 days in Ho Chi Min city, I moved to Hanoi yesterday. Hanoi is cooler and find more ethnic Chinese dominance compared to Ho Chi Min (or Saigon). Ho Chi Min is those one of South-East Asian country. Moderate weather, tropical fruit, and easy-going + slow-paced life. Cyclo drivers keep sticky to you even they know they can't make business with you. Hanoi is more like China. Pelple's face, driving, city design, etc. People here speak kind of Putonghua, so that's my last resort for communication when English doesn't work. Yes, Hanoi is next to China, and even closer than Hainan Island.

プロジェクトからもロールオフされたので、久しぶりの長めのお休み。今日から10日間ベトナムで、年末は２週間ちょっと東京・名古屋へ。こんなにたっぷりと仕事から離れるのは６月のシカゴ・トレーニング以来。ほほほー、楽しみ楽しみ。
